* Important Notes and Upcoming Events:
 
- Youth Group Trip - Monday, July 26, 9:00 am - The SUMC Youth Group will be going to Wet 'n Wild for a day of fun.
 
- Church Book Club - Thursday, July 29, 7:00 pm - Our Church's book club will meet at the home of Genesa Trogdon to discuss "Firefly Lane" by Kristen Hannah. All are welcome to attend!
 
- Ladies Pottery Night - Saturday, July 31, 5:30 pm - All ladies are invited to attend a Ladies’ Pottery Night at Anja Wray’s home at 6:00 pm. You will meet at the church at 5:30 to carpool to her house in Oak Ridge. Please bring appetizer and/or beverage.  You will have to pay for the pottery that you make.  Please call/e-mail the church office or let Cameron Page know by Wednesday, July 28 if you'd like to attend.
 
- Charge Conference - Sunday, August 8, 12:15 pm - we will have a charge conference to discuss and vote on the selling of church property to the State of North Carolina for the widening of Hwy. 220 North. All are welcome to attend, but only members of the Ad Council can vote.
 
- Youth Group trip to SpirtUs - August 14-17 - Please keep our youth group and adult volunteers in your thoughts and prayers as they are away on this mission trip.
 
- Blessing of the Backpacks - On Sunday, August 15, we will gather outside the church at 3:00 pm, weather permitting (if not, we’ll meet inside) to ask God’s blessing on our kids and their backpacks as they prepare to return to school. Kids should bring their backpacks. Parents are welcome, too. Treats will be served. If you know of a child who cannot afford a backpack, please contact Pastor Bev. Make plans to come and bring your friends!
 
- Membership Class - Monday, August 16 at 7:00 pm in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Church - Pastor Bev will be leading a class for all who are interested in becoming a member of Summerfield UMC. If you are interested or know someone else who has been attending who might be, please contact Bev. The class will take less than 2 hours and does not mean you are committed to joining – only that you are interested and would like further information. Please contact Bev if you have any questions at 643-5126.
